The arthroscopic active compression test.

چکیده
Pathology of the biceps tendon is often a factor in the pathogenesis of shoulder pain. However, diagnosis and management of such pathology remains controversial. Multiple tests have been described to identify pathology related to the biceps tendon and biceps anchor. The active compression test is one such test that has been used clinically to identify patients with superior labral/biceps anchor pathology. An arthroscopic version of this test is described to identify biceps pathology intraoperatively and to aid the surgeon in making diagnostic and treatment decisions.

Interference screw technique for arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation of compression fractures of the tibial plateau.
Arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation (ARIF) is recommended as state-of-the-art treatment for patients with pure compression fracture of the tibial plateau. We describe a new technique for ARIF of pure compression tibial plateau fractures that uses a cannulated, bioabsorbable interference screw. After a guide pin is placed in the center of the compressed fragment and a tamp is used to el...
متن کاملArthroscopic Bridge Technique for PCL Avulsion: Surgical Technique and Key Points
This study redescribes an arthroscopic bridge technique for repair of avulsion of the posterior cruciate ligament. The procedure is performed step-to-step. In this technique we created two bone tunnels in the anterior aspect of the tibia and inferior medial of the tibia tuberosity and then create suture fixation of the fragment using the suture bridge. The arthroscopic bridge technique was used...
متن کاملArthroscopic Transcapsular Axillary Nerve Decompression
Symptomatic axillary nerve compression can result in debilitating pain and weakness that can result in decreased athletic performance. If a trial of nonoperative treatment is not successful, surgical intervention may be required. Open surgical techniques have provided satisfactory outcomes in small cohorts of patients. Recent advancements in surgical technique have provided the ability to perfo...
متن کاملArthroscopic Bony Bankart Repair Using Double-Threaded Headless Screw: A Case Report
We present a case of arthroscopic fixation for bony Bankart lesion using a double-threaded cannulated screw. A 39-year-old man sustained a left shoulder injury from a motorcycle accident. Radiographs showed bony Bankart lesion and CT revealed 40% defect of glenoid articular surface. Arthroscopic fixation was performed using double-threaded cannulated screw after the bony fragment was reduced by...
متن کاملArthroscopic management of glenohumeral arthrosis: humeral osteoplasty, capsular release, and arthroscopic axillary nerve release as a joint-preserving approach.
Glenohumeral arthrosis frequently results in substantial discomfort and activity limitations. Shoulder arthroplasty has been shown to provide reliable pain relief under these circumstances in older, less active populations. Younger patients, however, who desire to continue participation in high-demand activities, may not be optimal candidates for glenohumeral arthroplasty. Arthroscopic debridem...
